Haven't watched the full video yet but in the intro she mentions something like that she's going to talk about things not covered yet in other reviews including how to add a hidden game?
And this other new video is a really well done ad for the A500 launch by what I think is a company you can preorder or order at? It's very good. Feels like a TV commercial from back in the era of 8 and 16 bit home computers and consoles.

Its a shame you do not ever see these on normal TV or on Sky, Mini Console trailers, these were born on Social Media, you wound not know anything about them if it was not for Social Media, they were made on the internet... Thats where they exist only. The THEC64 and A500 might be in magazines like Retro Gamer but thats a internet mag now, no computer mags are sold in newsagents no more, only TV guides mags and Women mags now... I went into a few shops and asked about THEA500 Mini and THEC64 and they didn't know what they were and never heard of them.

This is a nice picture of it... I know I will not be getting a A500 full sized maxi version, why, I have a Amiga 500 already in my cupboard(that I do not use) and it will never be used and I only like mini console now cause they take up less space and can be put away easily, the A500 is just way to big, as big as a Tank(get it... ), thats was all right in 1985 cause things were big then, like phones and computers. I think the A1200 would be a better computer to replicate or even the A600, less plastic.

I was just watching Start Trek Picard on Amazon Prime and I noticed something, RGL has copied parts of the Prime Video GUI on the A500 Mini GUI... weird... well companies copy companies, I knew I seen the stars before and the layout, I see things no one else can see.. lol. See if you can see what I can. A500 GUI Amazon Prime Video Picture of video/game on the top right, description on top left, the 4 starts are the same, and both have a yellow/orange box around video/game thats selected.

Another new review.
All 25 games ranked.
5 games based on movies to add to the A500.
Many are saying they expect their A500 to arrive by Friday, so you'll probably be seeing more people in the forum.

Few more new reviews.
5 spooky games to add to your A500 mini.
I'm seeing many who never owned an Amiga or didn't even grow up in that era say they're getting the A500 mini. It looks like it's going to sell even better than the C64 mini did. Many also collect minis or they know of the Amiga's reputation or have heard of certain games being legendary on it and are getting it for that reason.
It's a much easier way to navigate using these games than setting up an emulator on a PC or raspberry pi. Even preconfigured images on a raspberry pi can have issues to tweak here and there. The A500 mini gives you access to these advanced tweaking tools on screen that can be adjusted for each game in a much easier and straightforward way.
Judging by the amount of reviews and excitement it looks like it will be a big seller and quickly pave the way for the full sized maxi with working keyboard. The mini appeals to those who don't have the space or just want to play games easily. The maxi will appeal to the diehard fans or those who want to go deeper into the Amiga's OS with a working replica keyboard.

Few more new reviews.
And a video on his thoughts as he waits for his in the mail.
Over the next few days the reviews will probably be coming out everywhere as people begin to get theirs so I'll probably be more selective and just post the more viewed ones or videos that go into How To stuff that might be of interest.

I just received mine and have been testing it. So far the only issues I've experienced have been some custom games I stuck on a USB stick. Namely Turrican 3, no matter what settings I use I'm not able to get the intro to play correctly, the evil villain guy has his head chopped off with the top part not displaying correctly. Also I couldn't get Turrican 2 to start at all. The whdload versions I'm using are based on the latest slaves. Kind of bummed out my favourite games have issues, perhaps this will be fixed in future updates.

Also just received mine today, had problems with the joypad not working but after a bit of fiddling i got it to work, but the down button keeps sticking The gamepad is ASS. Buy the SNES Buffalo gamepad instead. It's the best non-official USB gamepad you can get.

Anybody have the INNext SNES style gamepad they can try on the A500? It works on the C64 mini and maxi. Haven't used it in a while on the mini but from memory the keys are reasonably mapped for the most part. Haven't tried remapping them by altering the config text file yet. Not sure how it compares to the Buffalo gamepad but the quality seems pretty good for a two pack of controllers under $20. If I'm not using a joystick for Retropie I use the INNext. Some games are better with a dpad and some I like to use a joystick for.

Reviews are starting to show up all over as people get the A500. Here's a few that might be of interest.
Trying the C64 mini and maxi joystick with it. He's using I think the C64 mini joystick that used pressure switches. The maxi uses micro switches. You can buy these joysticks separately so keep that in mind depending on which type you want. Most prefer micro switches but some do like pressure switches better.
Trying a competition pro joystick.
Another guide to installing WHDLoad games.
Review and WHDLoad issues. Reading comments some are having problems with some USB sticks like people did on the C64 mini and maxi.
Review and how easy is it to load games.
Follow up after review video where she added 68 new games.
By the way in the first video above he shows a nice Amiga A500 mini branded USB stick with logo they got off eBay. Really nice touch. No games on it. Just for those who want a matching USB stick for the A500.
Also read somebody tried a PlayStation 3 controller on the A500 and it worked so they were able to use the joystick.

WHDLoad tips and plugging in a USB extender to add more ports.
How to map the C64 mini and maxi joystick keys the way you want them on the A500.
Saw one video where a guy in Australia bought his at the mall in an EB Games store, so it appears even some stores are getting their initial stock shipments.

Wanted to add heard one guy say do not use USB 3.0 thumb drives on the A500. He says he tried several and they get hot to the touch and he found this to happen on other mini consoles as well. Not sure if it's true or not but just passing it on.
It also appears that just like the C64 mini and maxi some are having issues with USB sticks not being recognized especially if they're bigger than 32 gig so it's a safer bet if you're buying one to not get anything bigger than that.

So experimented a bit with the A500 today..
Some things I noticed:
In general they learned alot from TheC64 machines, TheA500 gui is much more user friendly. I wished they could implement this expert settings screen for TheC64 too. Sadly the expert settings missing many important settings, but it's great that it saves an own file for each game.
WHDLOAD:
Not all downloaded WHDLOAD titles shows up in the media browser, has someone experienced this too? - For example I downloaded some games in LHA format but in media browser some files are not showing up, I already changed the filenames to something different, but this games don't show up, like they are blacklisted somehow: Loom, Interphase, Stunt Car Racer and the new tracks. They show up fine in the Amiberry gui on TheA500 and playing well - My stick damaged? Every Time I shutdown TheA500 and plug it back to my PC it shows the Filesystem repair dialog
Edit: found out that there is a limit with number of files allowed inside a folder .. so I put the missing files in separate folders and it works now.. never mind.. :-)
Some games work "out of the box" - some has to be tweaked in the UAE file. For example: Wing Commander runs at normal A1200 Speed, you have to manually add the "cpu=max" flag to make it run fluid. Shadow of the beast 3 also needs that tweaking, otherwise experience of sound stutters. Other games doesn't work, they start but at some point crash like "F/A 18 Interceptor" during gameplay. Maybe needs still some tweaking in the UAE file. No way to get this to work on TheA500 expert settings.
greetings A.

On folder file limitation, I found the limit to be 256 files, with "S" being the main problem (WHD files), so I split "S" into two folders and Superfrog etc turned up!

Is there a way to run the demo.hdf and boot.hdf files from PCUAE Amiga mode in TheA500 Amiberry? I get this "not a dos disk" message if I add this hardfiles. Works well in Winuae. Special harddrive settings? hdf file too big?
Edit: works now. You have to manually edit the Harddrive settings to Surfaces 16, then it works, but another issue. While TinyLauncher seems to work, the workbench get stuck in the blue workbench sreen and mouse showing the busy status. I know there is some kind of icon bar wich loads at the bottom of the screen, here it seems to freeze. Since the video shows that it works maybe I forgot a setting to get this work?! Nick, can you help since it worked on your side?
greetings, A.

They've already released an update to WHDLoad for the A500. Among other things more games that people added via USB are now working that weren't before.
Also here's a new review that's pretty good. I'm only posting reviews now that stand out in some way or have a large following by well known content creators because there's a ton of reviews popping up everywhere. The A500 seems like it's selling well among even people who never owned an Amiga but have a love for retro gaming and have heard about some of it's legendary games.
I'd also add to make sure you are using a good power supply rated capable of handling the amps if you're plugging in stuff like keyboards. Some have reported they thought something like a keyboard wasn't compatible until they used a power supply with higher amp delivering abilities. Devices usually only draw what amps they need not what a power supply is capable of carrying. It's usually voltage that you never want to exceed the specs on.
