I tried to delete all the "thumbs" folders as I did the first time, since I use a personal game database and delete all those included in the package, but the result does not change. I also tried to export my database again from PCU Game Manager and copy it back to the pendrive but the thumbnails are always corrupt as in the general screenshot taken with the smartphone that takes up the selection screen .... drive.google.com/file/d/1Uw8_NRk7VHa14J4QviW9DsXzLIaxl86r/view?usp=sharingGuys, I would like to know if there is any other user experiencing the same problem as me by having the thumbnails generated with a personal database and not using the one already present in Nick's package. To do this, simply export your games with PCU Game Manager and copy them to the pendrive. The script will take care of generating the thumbnails automatically at the first start.

Can you share the ch.log, it in the same folder as the gamelist folders are "/Carousel_Games/Games/"... ? I never made the Carousel Gamelist Selector Screen(ChooSDL program), Faberfox did so have no access to it source, it makes its own thumbnails, a script don't make them. Its got to capture each screenshot and make them in to one thumbnail so maybe it can't read all of the scrrenshots property, but I don't know, I never had this problem, but I am happy it works.. so it just a minor bug in the ChooSDL program, the program is a year old. thec64community.online/thread/511/carousel-usb-folder-chooser

Stupid question perhaps, but I cannot find any similar experiences onthe forum: I've downloaded the PCUAEv1.30 zip and copied it to an USB stick. Started it by "installing'' the fake firmware. When booting I see the blue anniversary logo and then it loads the carousel and completely freezes. Nothing happens. The only things that seem to work are the keyboard shortcuts. But no matter which Carousel I open or with page with games, the carousel is completely frozen. I also tried booting to classic mode first. Also does not do anything (as soon as I exit to the Carousel it freezes).
Sometimes, after a few dozen times of trying, I will here one tone of the music (before it freezes). I've updated just now to the latest firmware (1.5.1) on my TheVIC20, but that also did not seem to help anything. Freezing is so quick that in many occasions it freezes while zooming in the USB stick icon in the bottom (stays really small).
What I am doing wrong?

DO NOT INSTALL FIRMWARE WHILE RUNNING PCUAE SCRIPTS
Did you update to new firmware while the PCUAE stick was inserted perhaps.
Remove all USB sticks
Reboot the THeC64 / TheVic20 / C64 Mini
Does it work?
If yes then prepare a blank memory stick with 1.5.1 firmware
Insert into THeC64 / TheVic20 / C64 Mini
Reboot the THeC64 / TheVic20 / C64 Mini
Install firmware from Tool menu
Reboot the THeC64 / TheVic20 / C64 Mini
Does it work with 1.5.1?
If Yes then format your memory stick on a PC for the PCUAE 1.3 (you probably corrupted it with firmware install previously )
Copy PCUAE 1.3 to USB Insert into THeC64 / TheVic20 / C64 Mini
Reboot the THeC64 / TheVic20 / C64 Mini
Should be all working again with PCUAE?
DO NOT INSTALL FIRMWARE WHILE RUNNING PCUAE SCRIPTS

I of course read a lot before I even tried PCU. I read the warning too. The box works fine with 1.51 and also worked fine with the previous firmware. I did not flash anything with PCU active (I couldn't even if I wanted to, as it freezes upon boot).
Tried multiple USB sticks and redownloaded the files twice. To no avail; it freezes in the carousel(but I can for example start vice with the shortcut keys). I can also open the game selection but this behaves weird (although responsive).

What machine is it, can you take a picture of it freezing and how did you copy it to the USB Stick, what with PC, Mac..? Do you have the carousel on a different Language... Italiano has a problem and makes the Carousel freeze for some reason and I don't know why yet, all the others work fine.

I have not had any problem updating to 1.5.1, and that I have a modification of the nand from the beginning with +10 favorite games that I included permanently in TheC64. Here it has been said many times that the only thing to do is that the update USB is in FAT32 and as the only file theC64-1_5_1.bin and that there is no other USB connected to the TheC64
The latest version of PCU is fantastic, especially the folder management and its progressive integration with the PCU Manager. Great development.
About the freezes, it happened to me with Spanish the first time I used the PCU version that uses an automatic start accelerator. And it was putting the English version on TheC64 and it stopped happening. I have NOT tested again if successive PCU updates have solved it, I will test these days.
About the stops in the navigation and the stop of the melodies, I think it depends on the USB device used. I think that a good microsd with a USB adapter can greatly improve this circumstance.

Maybe you need to when starting the Carousel Gamelist Selector Screen wait and give it abit of time before you switch to a Carousel gamelist first, it has to scan the screens folder to make the thumbnails, I never had this problem with it, inside the gamelist folder there a folder called thumb that where they are made, maybe delete that folder and start Carousel Gamelist Selector Screen again and see if that works. I think I understand the problem in creating corrupt miniatures. I don't know if this also applies to the others, but in my case the PNG files of the screens that the script uses to generate the thumbnails must have a color depth of 24 bits. Many of my files are 4 or 8 bit and are corrupted in the thumbnails even if they look perfectly on the carousel. I tried to convert everything to 24 bit and finally solved the problem.

Hi team. so I have an issue. I bought a db9-usb adaptor that has two db9 sockets to use regular joysticks. The instructions for the regular C64 go into doing a fake update/getting access to the file system then adding a line to gamecontrollersdb.txt. As I use PC I just found that file in /options/controllers. It works fine.. until I change to another set of games ( H-G ) for instance.. then the my db9 joystick stops. If I go back to 0-G then still nothing. It works on initial boot list.. but when I change games list then it stops EDIT.. I added the line to all the gamecontrollersdb.txt files I found. and it works on 0-G and H-R... not S-Z. But if I go back from H-R to 0-G then it stops working. Any ideas? Hard to say - does it work on the default THE64 (after you have done the fake update)? If I understand correctly PCU overmounts the standard gamecontrollerdb.txt with the one in Carousel_Games/Options/controllers/gamecontrollerdb.txt. I changed all copies of the .txt file.. so I don`t understand why

Sacrilege ;-) What do you need to rip out and from where? If you mean PCUAE you can just ignore the Vic20 by not selecting it. If you have a stock machine and want to remove the Vic20 items from firmware you can edit the Nand with X Windows mod inside PCUAE (a bit risky but possible) or you could use the older Game Carousel Editor (I found it buggy and had to use X Windows mod to fix leftover items in firmware it did not delete) The easiest way is to use PCUAE and just select the C64 bits. You are missing out on some games that are better on the Vic20 than on the C64 though. e.g. Star Defence by Anirog, Gridrunner, Matrix, Hell Gate all by Jeff Minter of Llamasoft

You will not need to stop PCUAE when Updating the firmware soon, I just used Firmware Mode on it to update my THEC64 Mini and THEVIC20 with v1.5.1 and it works fine, after it updated the firmware PCUAE rebooted, I found a bug in Firmware Mode, sorting that out at the moment, you be able to copy the games from the firmware as well in to the folder in Carousel Games/Game/Firmware_Games/ and see them in the Carousel Gamelist Selector Screen too.
Firmware Mode works now but it will keep copying the games everytime you run it and it shouldn't be so look out for a PCUAEv1.31 soon, When I release a new version you need to remove the older version cause this version I have updated some of the scripts, if you have added your own games using PCU Game Manager, use it to copy them back or copy the games folder in Carousel Games before upgrading PCUAE.

PCUAE will not load..?, you can remove the gamelist folders 1 to 6 in "/Carousel_Games/Games" but not 0 Favourites gamelist(0_Favourites folder), you will make it freeze, the Carousel Gamelist Loader script is linked to that gamelist, thats what PCUAE loads up first.

If you want to do that you would have to remove the the folders labelled 4_VIC20_0_to_G 5_VIC20_H_to_R 6_VIC20_S_to_Z from location your memory stick:\Carousel_Games\Games\ The next time you run PCUAE the Vic20 carousels will not appear on Ctrl-1 menu.

Hello and thank you for the great tool and continous development! I just upgraded from 1.19 to 1.30 and for the first time tested the carousel selector screen by pressing CTRL-1. The carousel menu that then appear seams to not support my joystick, only the cursor right and cursor down keys on my C64C keyboard through Keyrah v2 (used on The C64 mini). Is there any solution or plan for a solution to be able to map the gamecontrollerdb.txt file also to this carousel selector so I can use my old TAC-2 also in this selector screen?

Hey guys I hope you are all well. I'm just wondering if there is any way I can access my save states from the PCU usb drive .THEC64SAVE folder doesn't seem to have them in there (which I expected) I want to update my 1.2.1 PCU to the latest but don't want to lose the work I've spent on SEUCK to do so...Also is it possible just to update the files from my previous PCU build to the latest PCU? by simple drag and drop...

Oh... you will have use the original Joystick to move on the screen and have your other joystick plugged in to and then if using Carousel v1.3.2 use swap Joystick ports(CTRL-<--) inside the emulator to use your other joystick, I never made the program and its a year old, so no other updates are made for it. Most things made for the machines use THEC64 Joystick cause it comes with it.
