Alright... so I succesfully installed Atari mode. Wasn't too impressed with the speed of the Atari800 emulator. After some tinkering I was able to get it to run the included Donkey Kong with frameskip only set to 1:2. From what I remember Atari800 does not run well when not in hardware mode. Setting the screen size to 3x and turning off some other option did the trick. I noticed that Atari800 has an "OpenGL_Library" command line option or something like that. It may be possible to compile a library and maybe use that option?
Anywho I decided to give retroarch a shot. The Atari emulator in there ( also Atari800 ) runs much better. So I copied over my Retroarch Atari800 files I setup myself and my config files and Wala.. instant Atari! Now I just need to convert my playlist but unfortunately this version of retroarch does not have the newer "manual import" option.. and it uses the older playlist format. Hrmm.
I also grabbed the set provided from Stefanor and with some creativity was able to get it mostly working. I only tested a couple of systems. I'm kinda going only do bare minimum stuff here cause I don't want to get caught up in the rabbit hole of setting up retroarch just yet.
Edit:
I managed to create playlists by simply switching to the other retroarch core and using the manual scan option and then manually copying the playlist over.
Atari ST emulation is pretty slow so probably not worth it. I'll save the amiga mode addon for last.. since the 'ol Amiga is a fairly complicated machine to set up.

Now that PCUAE is v2.0.0 its not showing it in PCUAEManager, unless you delete all the old PCUAE Setups in pcuae-install folder and then it sees it and then you can download it, you have to remove them manually by going into pcuae-install folder and deleting them, you need a way of deleting them in PCUAEManager without it have to see a update for PCUAE. PCUAE game folder has changed now to USB:/PCUAE/Carousel_Games/Games folder cause PCUAAE is now included, its the only way it would work, I did try and put all the files in the same place, only the root of the USB Drive but it would not work. Its here to download or download it from PCUAEManager but you have to delete all old PCUAE Setups manually before it will show it and is able to be downloaded in PCUAEManager... github.com/CommodoreOS/PCUAE/releases/tag/v2.0.0I have released a 2.6.0 version of the manager that will select the right export/import folder if version 2.0.0 or later is on the USB stick. I also fixed so that 2.0.0 is detected by the manager and added a new feature to manage saved states for file loader games. 2.6.0Lantzelot... Is it possible in PCUAE Manager when you import games that are in the carousel format, it imports the folder the games are in too so it makes a Game View with the same name as the folder is named so like if I have games in a folder called `C64_0_to_G` it imports the name of the folder and makes a Game View from it and then imports the games from that folder into that Game View. I would like to be able to just point the importer to a folder and it with import the games and if any of the games are in folders add them as Game Views and add the games in each folder to that view...? so If I wanted to add the Games folder, I just point it to the Game folder and PCUAE Manager will add the games and make the folders as Game views and then add the games to each view how the games are set in each folder. So basically doing the same as how it exports games but just doing the opposite, it imports the games back into PCUAE Manager the exactly the same way as they were in PCUAE Manager when you exported them. I posted it here to just in case you do not look here a lot now... github.com/lantzelot-swe/PCUGameManager/discussions

I can add an option to create game views based on the folders, but it will not be exactly how it looked in the manger when exporting, because there is no information about how the views where defined. The manager can create views based on the folder name, and then create a filter for the "viewtag" property. All games that are imported is marked with a viewtag named after the folder. Then there will be separate gameviews that contains the imported games.

Can you define the Game view by PCUAE Manager looking to see what the first game and last games are in the folder is named so like in `C64_0_to_G` folder first game is `3DPINBALLPINBALLPOWER-ms.tsg` so it knows it starts at 0 and then looks for the last game in the folder alphabetically so that is `GYRUSS-ms.tsg` so it would know now it starts at `0` and ends at `G` or would that be to hard to do...? And as well in there are the Game Infoslots too so would have to reconise it as a infoslot too. These are just ideas so if it can be done then great, if you can't then that ok, you can only do what you can do with it so its not set in stone...

It all depends on how you want it to work.. the game views are only a filtering of all existing games in the database based on the different columns like title, author etc, so doing it like that the result would depend on what the database you import to already contain. You might already have several games starting with 0 to G which would then also be included in the game view. My idea now is to always create a new game view and mark all imported games with a unique tag so that the view looks exactly like the folder you import from. Infoslots will also be imported for that specific game view. I think it can quickly get very complicated to try to build in more logic into this.

Another idea is... A button to delete all Game views, at the moment you can only do it one at a time, its would take a long time if you had a lot of them, so if you want to clear everything and start again.

If you want a clean database you can just delete the pcusb.db file. The manager will create a new empty one if missing.

Just noticed something with PCUAE Manager, its detecting the wrong Games folder on my SD Card... its auto detecting: Look below... It should be detecting: not the old folder: PCUAE Manager did use to detect `G:\Games` so do not know why its not detecting it no more and detecting `G:\PCUAE\Carousel_Games\Games` instead. `G:\Games` overmounts and becomes `G:\PCUAE\Carousel_Games\Games` in PCUAE so Games folder on root is mounted to the old games folder, if you put games in the old folder `G:\PCUAE\Carousel_Games\Games` PCUAE will not see them, it will think you added no games and boot up the Firmware Carousel, it only see them from G:\Games, I added the Game folder to the root of the USB Drive so it was easier to get to, and if you needed to look in it for some reason. It might because I removed the `PCUAE_THEC64` and `PCUAE_THEA500` folders and put them in to one folder again and called it PCUAE again so its recognising the folder from before, I changed it cause it was getting to hard to change things in each folder so I would update say PCUAE_THEC64 but then forget to update PCUAE_THEA500 folder so I put them together in one folder cause they both use the same scripts and uses less space cause it does not have duplicated scripts now.

Ok, fixed so that the "Games" folder is selected if available on the USB stick. It will be part of version 2.9.0 that I'm currently working on, it has some other new features also

I noticed if you change the infoslot info in preferences it dose not update the infoslot in each gameview, could you add if you click on a infoslot "Ifoslot infomation has changed, do you want to update it?" OK=Yes Cancel=No and it updates the info if you press OK button ...? Thanks for all the work on this, I love it..BTW...

Hey there,
first I'd like to say thank you for so much good ideas and performance :-)
Now I wann report my problem: I do not get the PCUAE mode to run. Manger is installed. PUAE is installed on an USB-drive 2.0 (FAT32 32GB with MBR, created with rufus like shown). USB is detected from the machine.
Favourite_1 is exported with other games to USB-Stick.
If I do the fake Update via USB the screen goes black for a view sconds. Then it turns blue with informations about check the autoboot mode activation. The result is the following text on blue screen: ----------- Loading PCUAE. Please Read... Checking if Autobootmode is activated and updated. If it is already updated cause you have updated PCUAE only then it will update Autoboot Start-Up script if it needs too. PCUAE now only boots from Autoboot Mode now. Checking now... No.. Autoboot Start Up Script is not in the firmware already. OK. Loading Autoboot Mode Activation Screen. Press Return or left fire Button to Continue...? -----------
Then I can hit only return on theC64-Keybord and the machine boots in normal carousel-mode again.
I guess I have forgotten somthing simpel or somthin else, do I? Do I have to activate bootmode or somthing like that perhaps? If YES, how do I do that. I could not find any hint or "how to" here.
Can anyone help me with the right hint/tip?
That would be very nice and great!
Carpe noctem! Yours Bo!

So my solution is now the following for a while: I began from the start again and did all the steps with PCAUE 1.8.5bf10.
Now everything works fine.
So something must be wrong with the version 3, I guess.

Seeing the same here. Just bought a C64 Maxi, firmware 1.6.1, and used the latest PCAUE, deployed via the latest manager release (I ran the online update). Formatted the stick via macOS diskutil, FAT32 and MBR. It's quite large, >200 GB, although I am not sure how much is actually usable by FAT32. C64 Maxi detects the stick and says it's installing autoboot, but then reboots with the normal carousel. I copied "All Games", "Favorites_1" and the C64 a-z folders onto the stick.

Installed some time ago pcuaio 1.72. Because of many updates i started from scratch with PCUAE Manager 2.9.4 and installed the latest 3.0.4j PCUAE on USB Stick and exported all 7 standard games lists. Automode enabled. After some black screens (and 1x load into stock carousel) all self repaired (?) and running now. Problems: I can see only 150 Games on every gamelist. All above are invisible. E.g. C64 0 to G the last game is desert fox (game 150 in folder) ... Solution? Question: Found the OneLoad-64 V3 Packs for THEC64. Can i directly copy the folders into USB Game folder or must i import in PCUAE Manager and export again? (if import is needed i have duplicates?). Don't want to destroy my configuration Thanks for your work!

Other question i missed the official firmware update, turned automode PCUAE off today and installed 1.61 (original RG carousel, old 1.32). But if afterwards i start PCUAE and under system information i still see 1.32!? Is this normal? (a second USB Stick with 1.61 Firmware is not detected inside PCUAE)

I'm also on 1.8.5bf10 now. All problems gone (all games visible, no music bug in splash screen, newer firmware in PCUAE Carousel). Used the same game folders from newest version (only changed description text to... CTRL + Shift + F7 for Carousel Gamelist Changer..., other shortcuts in older version). Oneload64 V3 carousels can diretly copied in.
One new problem: Inside PCUAE Carousel the USB in file loader is not readable. Don't know why because when USB Stick isn't plugged in, boot the Mini, later plug in USB with original carousel, file loader: i can use the file loader here...

Is there a beginners thread somewhere? This is all a bit overwhelming, and I have beginners questions.
I got TheC64 and installed the PCUAE, latest version to date. I exported the games and activated Autoboot. Now I would like to add Amiga Mode. So I installed it in the PCUAE Manager, but when I put the USB stick back into TheC64 and pressed CTRL + F5 it seems like it's not installed. Do I need to re-install the PCUAE again somehow? When I go to the system information it says that there is no new version.
Oh, another newbie question... does it matter which controller I put in which USB (I have two)? I guess the emulator has a sense of what it joystick port 1 and 2 but I haven't figured out yet which is which.

If your mini or maxi has the latest official retro games Ltd firmware installed you can swap joystick ports by hitting a combination of two keys on the controller.

It looks like it has a `Access is denied` problem does PCUAE Manager have full rights on windows, try Right Click on its exe and Run as Administrator...? lantzelot can answer this better than me, so it just a guess.

Sorry about all the problems PCUAE is having, I decided to look at pcuae-1.8.5bf10 and see why that works ok and the latest one not properly and I figured it out, the older version is not running Firmware Mode, so I am going to disable it and it will only be enabled on THEC64 Mini NTSC, cause it needs it so it can switch from NTSC/PAL and back, it does not work without it, when you load PCUAE on THEC64 Mini NTSC it loads it in PAL Mode strait away so its a PAL Mode not a NTSC Model. I be making a new version of PCUAE dedicated to THEC64 Models called PCUAE THEC64 Edition so if something brakes in the main version of PCUAE you can use the mini version instead. I be using pcuae-1.8.5bf10 as its base and adding new features to it, at the moment it works ok and has PCUAE Network Mode in it now and working... It will now include VICE Mode too. This is why I have been quiet and not posting a lot, been working on a way to fix PCUAE and its black screen and having to reboot again after the Mode/Carousel Changer Menu's loaded when I didn't need to do that before, you add one thing and it can change everything, The Butterfly Affect.. More info soon, I might release a beta version of it soon... Is this a good idea, no point me doing this if no one uses it cause PCUAE works for me, it might show a black screen every now and then when it loading the carousel but it works, I think it depends on what model you use, if your using the NTSC version of THEC64 Mini you could have that problem but after the next update shouldn't have it at all with the other models, its the way RGL made THEC64 Mini NTSC firmware, not me...? If there is a problem the firmware, it does not tell you why its doing what its doing so I have figure it out, sometimes your working blind cause its saying nothing on the putty screen so you have to play around with it until something works...
