I assume you mean plugging it in with an actual USB cable? Then probably, but you may have to use the game controller software they talk about in threads on here to get the proper config string and then edit the controller config text file. Is that console windows or Linux based? Because there's two forms of input with windows based joysticks and I think you need to have a controller that can do the one type. X input or direct or analog I think they're called.
I like that controller because the joystick will spin to act like a paddle or spinner. Sooner or later I'll get one for my RetroPie setup. Right now I've got the Hyperkin Trooper II Atari style joystick that has 6 buttons for GUI navigation. Works great on RetroPie but I need to edit the config file to get it to work with the mini. The joystick right out of the box is a little too loose for my tastes though. I've been meaning to take it apart to see if I can tighten up the action a bit.

Is there a video Tutorial on how to edge the config file on a typical controller to make it work on the TheC64?

It took me a While to figure out how to get it to work and i Finally got the new AtariVCS joystick to work perfectly. the menu buttons doesn't work but is not a big deal as long as is playable.
Here's the Configure Driver Script I use to get it to work on the gamecontrollerdb.txt file on Project Carousel USB
03000000503200000110000011010000,Atari Classic Controller C64,x:b0,back:b4,guide:b2,start:b3,dpup:h0.1,dpdown:h0.4,dpleft:h0.8,dpright:h0.2,Platform:Linux,
NOTE: It may need to be modified first to work on other AtariVCS Joystick using the project carousel usb software that i got the controller to work with.

Thankyou and everyone who help me figure out how to get the joystick to work on theC64 Maxi and hope this will help other that are interest to use the joystick on the console.

I came here to the forum (new user) to see if there is any support for the Atari VCS stick and found this. I'm not sure what all this means and how to get the additional code into The C64, but I guess I have some learning to do. Just skimming over the info in the links is giving me a headache. lol.
