It ran even longer than the Amiga did but the Amiga never had a chance really, the Amiga 600 and 1200 came out to late, C64 run for 12 years, this is why the C64 was the Worlds Best Selling Home Computer... and it came out at the right time.
The Commodore PET and VIC20 are the same computer, C64 was a upgraded version of them, The VIC20 and C64 are a home cut down version of the Commodore PET so it was easier to set up on a stand TV set, you could run games from the PET on a Commodore 64.(I use to run games from the PET on my C64)
