Yeah it looks very cool. It will depend if the thing suffers with upscaling delay like the C64mini has because pixel perfect will be more of an issue literally. I hate that upscaling process delay of the C64mini and almost wish it had composite video so I could at least play Rick Dangerous properly. I never owned a specturm back in the day but played the odd game via friends and was jealous of others like Wec Le Mans, what a game!! Also I'm not one of these people that say C64 rulez, everything else sucked ect... Speccy games were made by the same people as C64 in a lot of cases so for me it's always about the games rather than limitations or whatever. Ghosts n' Goblins and Ikari Warriors for example are different enough from the C64 versions that they add and extend that pleasure of playing the 8bit versions, win, win!

Yeah, it does look interesting. It's basically a brand new Spectrum with greatly enhanced sound and graphics. A chance to play all the originals at a better speed (where needed) and also lots of new games in development for it. www.specnext.comNot to get into a format war but there were definitely some arcade conversions that worked better on one machine or other obviously. Bombjack for example, played MUCH better on the Speccy (in my opinion) I think that makes the Next worth looking at for even die-hard C64 fans (or other format fans) but it is a bit expensive!

Never played ZX Bombjack but remember Super Sprint always looked cool, and some of the other driving games were neat like Chase HQ 128K & Enduro Racer. Some of the Bat'n Ball games can also offer an alternative version such as Arkanoid, Krackout, Batty, Impact and anything else I have forgotten. Sometimes the later amstrad sound chip can offer a different take of some of your fave C64 tunes which can be interesting. But yeah that's the thing, it does offer an alternative to what you already love even if I do mostly stick to games I play on C64 lol
I always liked Vampire on C64, that graphic style was a sort of High Def of the era allowing more detail even if it was single color, and of course there is plenty more of that on a Spectrum to be found.
Any idea how much it might be?

About £210 for standard version and I think £275 for 'accelerated' version.

Really tempted by this but it's pretty pricey. An accelerated one is £330 inc vat - that's more than a 'current gen' console...
Anyone on here got one?
